BETTER FAMILY LAW
Our policy will ensure families dealing with child access disputes will be supported through long-term mediation and counselling programs to maintain healthy relationships and happy families post-separation.
HOMELESSNESS
We will end homelessness by ensuring every Australian has access to short-term crisis accommodation with pathways to affordable community housing.
CHILD SUPPORT REFORM
Our reforms to the child support system will overhaul how child support is calculated and paid. We will remove the financial incentives that are paid to parents who withhold access to children while ensuring on-time payments for parents who have private agreements.
FAMILY VIOLENCE REFORM
Our policy will enforce a zero tolerance approach to all family and domestic violence. Domestic violence legislation will be amended to ensure services and support will be provided to all victims regardless of their age, gender or sexuality.
NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE
Volunteer National Youth Service is a paid program for young people from the age of 16. The initiative provides life skills, social responsibility and community training to prepare Australian kids for adult life.
MINISTER FOR MEN
To complement the existing Minister for Women portfolio we will ensure Australian boys, men and fathers have a dedicated ministerial portfolio for men. A minister for men will ensure national male health and education programs are in place and appropriately funded.
MENTAL HEALTH REFORM
We will improve access to mental health programs by increasing the access to and availability of qualified health professionals nationally. We will ensure that mental health programs can be delivered through health wellness hubs that are managed within individual communities.
ZERO PLASTIC WASTE
Our Zero Plastic Waste policy will see government work with companies to remove single-use plastic packaging from the market,
while supporting Australian consumers through recycling incentives as we work toward better management of plastic waste.
CHEAP CLEAN ENERGY
Cheap, clean, renewable energy is the right of every Australian. Our policy will see government move quickly toward investing in reliable, low cost, enviromentally friendly energy production, transmission and storage to improve how we use energy in our homes and for transport.
FOOD SECURITY
Our food and water security policy is about ensuring Australian families have an uninterrupted supply and access to local healthy, natural food and clean drinking water in times of national crisis.
COMMUNITY CHILD CARE
Child care has become a financial burden that many working Australian families can no longer afford. Our community child care program connects families to low-cost child care services in their neighbourhood.
COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT
Our community employment policy will ensure Australians on welfare are provided with training opportunities and paid work in
roles that support working families in their community.
DOMESTIC AID
Our policy will prioritise funding for domestic aid in the event of national emergencies to benefit at-risk Australian families. We
will action strategies to support primary producers to reduce their exposure to weather events and climate change.
AGE CARE REFORM
Our policy will improve how older Australians are cared for when they move into assisted living communities and retirement homes. We will ensure every Australian has access to low cost community connected facilities that maintain dignity and quality of life.
FOREIGN OWNERSHIP
Australian infrastructure, assets, critical businesses, farm land and residential housing needs to remain Australian owned. Our policy will see foreign ownership restricted to ensure our national security and sovereignty is protected for future generations.
Juvenile Justice Reform
Our approach to reducing juvenile crime will see offenders enter the national youth service program prior to re-offending. Our policy includes a nation juvenile curfew combined with redirection programs that focus on training, education and community engagement to reduce recidivism rates.
Fair Milk Pricing
As part of our Food Security Policy the ABF party supports the introduction of a minimum gate price per litre for Aussie Milk. We need to ensure Australian Dairy Farmers achieve a fair price for their product to protect the viability of their businesses, and to guarentee supply to Australian families.
Supporting Live Music
The ABF Party supports the establishment of an industry regulator to work with event organisers to aid in the delivery of safer live music events. We see the Australian live music industry as an important partner in our Better Drug Reform Policy.
Adoption Reform Policy
Better Veteran Services
Australian returned service men and women deserve better care and support on completion of their military careers. Our policy will see veterans who complete a minimum employment contract or personnel who have been injured during their military service provided with housing and guaranteed employment opportunities that support their return to civilian life.
